Commissioned by London Contemporary Dance School for the BA3 Graduation Show | Performed 25-28 June 2024 at The Place Theatre, London.
For their graduation show this year, a selection of students have been working with choreographer Simone Mousset and the Ballet National Folklorique du Luxembourg’s artistic director, M. Chevalier, to revisit the famous Pigeon Dance. The fiendishly difficult Pigeon Dance is known widely as one of the most iconic and challenging pieces of contemporary folk dance repertoire. Part of the celebrated folkloric ballet, Josiane the Country Girl, the Pigeon Dance is only rarely transmitted to other companies; London Contemporary Dance School is the first ever dance training institution to have the privilege of working with the Ballet National Folklorique du Luxembourg and, under the expert supervision of M. Chevalier, to perform its work.
